Ocean, NJ (October 1, 2008) Synergy Events has been named a finalist for a prestigious award from PROMO magazine for its role in designing, planning and executing the Wachovia Way2Save Challenge Tour.
The magazine's annual PRO Awards recognizes the best promotion marketing strategies, innovative ideas and winning campaigns for engaging consumers.
The Wachovia Way2Save Challenge Tour is entered into the category, Best Use of Event Marketing (More Than Five Venues). The 12 city, nationwide tour was created to launch a new savings product and drive brand awareness, while drawing attention to the savings crisis in America.
The centerpiece of the tour was the "World's Largest Money Machine", a three-story high structure with eight individual money machines. The interactive, entertaining and educational footprint included photo, golf and massage areas. Representatives from Wachovia attended each tour stop to help answer questions and open accounts for consumers.
The tour's grassroots campaign visited city streets, retail and bank branches to help build awareness for Way2Save and to drive traffic to the main events. It included a 24-foot "Money Machine on Wheels," a Glass Box Truck that housed three individual money machines; Wachovia-branded Segways and smaller individual money machine cylinders.
The tour was extremely successful in helping Wachovia build awareness for Way2Save while substantially increasing business. The tour generated more than 650 million media impressions and helped the company far exceed its goal of opening 100,000 new Way2Save accounts by the end of 2008. As of early September, more than 1 million Way2Save accounts had been opened.
The 2008 PRO Awards will be held October 29 at the Museum of Science & History in Chicago, IL.
